Just had some of the condensed milk ice-cream I made earlier. It was amazing.

The bonus was that all I could think of when I was folding in the condensed milk whilst making it was was Moira Rose saying “Fold in the cheese”.

How do you fold it? Do you fold it in half like a piece of paper and drop it in the pot? Grin

Nigella’s clementine cake Cake

fourandahalfkids · 29/12/2021 19:19

My 4 kids would say my sprouts lol. Dd2 whose will be 19 end of August announced to me that she wants those for her birthday breakfast (we have a tradition in our house that whatever they ask for they can have for breakfast on their birthdays).
I personally think it was a toss up between my salmon en croute or my chocolate orange baklava.

Have to say the cake was pretty damn good.

Also, left-over pie was strangely delicious. Literally, all the Christmas dinner leftovers in gravy with a puff pastry top.

MelonTits · 29/12/2021 19:20

Fold… in… the cheese Grin

Best thing I made was ham in Coca Cola - classic Nigella recipe, I’ve deviated on ham recipes over the years but this one is a classic in my family now. Done on Christmas Eve and eaten warm on that day, with leftovers on Xmas Day, Boxing Day, then the remnants go in a turkey, ham and leek pie.

My roast potatoes were spot on this year 👌🏻

Firesidefox · 29/12/2021 19:25

My roast potatoes and parsnips were amazing. So was the bread sauce actually. And I can't claim credit for the M&S pigs in blankets but they were good too!

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 29/12/2021 19:27

Vegetarian pigs in blankets (halloumi in aubergine)

edwinbear · 29/12/2021 19:45

My cauliflower cheese made with gold top milk was a thing of beauty. I'd tried to get ready made, stick in the oven stuff, but they didn't have any so I had to make it from scratch. I will never buy ready made cauliflower cheese again Grin

Roasties were crispy fluffy beautiful things.

Cinnamon rolls too

KurtWildesChristmasNamechange · 29/12/2021 19:49

I did ham in cola as always and it was amazing, it went in one sitting!

My pigs in blankets were actually the best thing I ate all Christmas though. I could eat them every day and be happy.

And the white chocolate and clementine cheesecake with a ginger nut base. That was a thing of beauty.

hugoagogo · 29/12/2021 19:50

I had a couple of fantastic boiled eggs on boxing day. Grin

My family would probably say the Yule log.

Soubriquet · 29/12/2021 19:51

My dh did the cooking and he did the most amazing beef. It was so tender you could cut it with a fork.

Closely followed by the pigs in blankets. Absolutely delicious

Elderflower14 · 29/12/2021 19:52

On Christmas Eve I made sausages and bacon lardons with baked beans and Bbq sauce which we had with crispy potatoes and sweetcorn.
Ds2 and I made Percy Pig Cheesecake too!!

Bagelsandbrie · 29/12/2021 19:52

Everyone complimented me on my “homemade” brownies and kept saying they were the best they’d ever had.

Thanks Betty Crocker…. BlushBlushGrin

ForsythiaInBloom · 29/12/2021 19:54

A venison sausage and root veg casserole with chestnuts. Family loved it and want to again at new year.

Wbeezer · 29/12/2021 19:55

Boxing day pavlova, or Christmas eve gammon.
Christmas cake turned out nice this year too.

ClemDanFango · 29/12/2021 19:55

Who-Hash our pet name for leftover veg (honey roasted carrots and parsnips, roast potatoes sprouts and broccoli) chopped and fried in butter with chopped onion and bacon. Soooooo good.

Bloodybridget · 29/12/2021 19:56

I made an excellent Yule log
