Dd (13) ds (16) and I would like to watch a film this evening. We have Netflix, Now Tv, Disney + and Prime (so far too much choice!). We like the Adam Sandler films and love a comedy. Happy to go up to a 15 rated film. Happy to watch an older film but nothing that's been badly dubbed as it distracts us too much!! No horrors or thrillers please.....let's hear your ideas Thank youThanks

Have you seen all the Night in the Museum films?
We watched ‘Click and Collect’ on Netflix the other night - that was good. ‘A Boy called Christmas’ - not seen it yet but sounds good.

I Give It A Year?

Haven't seen the night in the museum films but click and collect and the boy called Christmas we're both hits in this house!

Don’t Look Up. Netflix.

CoffeeAndEnnui · 29/12/2021 18:42

8-Bit Christmas on Now TV was lots of fun. It's a father telling his iPhone-craving daughter the tale of his desperate childhood Christmas quest to get a Nintendo console!

Mogloveseggs · 29/12/2021 18:43

Just friends Netflix

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 29/12/2021 18:44

Dont Look Up was great, but more for the older one I'd say, just for the context. Also is a bit bleak.

The newer Jumanji movies are excellent. The ones with The Rock in them. Agree Night at the Museum movies are also good.

There's a scene in I Give It a Year where their honeymoon photos pop up on a digital frame, there's some of them having sex. It happens in front of her parents, its not widely graphic but I'm not sure if my dd would love watching it with me, never mind her siblings.

Hellocatshome · 29/12/2021 18:47

A boy called Christmas
Saving Grace (the Brenda Blethyn one)
Cool Runnings
Big Hero 6

MrsJamin · 29/12/2021 18:49

Yesterday
Fighting with my family
Blinded by the light (musical with Bruce Springsteen songs, inspired by a true story of an Indian teenager obsessed with Bruce)

specialsauce · 29/12/2021 18:50

The Lost Boys

duvetdayforeveryone · 29/12/2021 18:55

Now TV has great films Grin

  • Ferris Bueller's day off
  • The naked gun
  • Airplane!
  • Indiana Jones
  • Summer rental
  • The Nutty professor
Thepowerofthelook · 29/12/2021 18:57

Mine enjoyed red notice on Netflix this week.

duvetdayforeveryone · 29/12/2021 18:57

Ferris Bueller's day off is also on Netflix :)

duvetdayforeveryone · 29/12/2021 19:06

On Disney+ we enjoyed:

  • Free Guy
  • Hot Shots
  • Mrs Doubtfire
DarkCorner · 29/12/2021 19:08

We are watching the hitmans wife’s bodyguard (free on prime) and it’s funny/silly! My DS is only 9 and not watching but I imagine he’d like it aged 13/16.

DarkCorner · 29/12/2021 19:10

There’s a bit of sex in it but just in a funny way not graphic

iklboo · 29/12/2021 19:15

My mum's neighbour is in A Boy Called Christmas!

Jumanji films
Shazam
Central Intelligence

iklboo · 29/12/2021 19:15

2anddone · 29/12/2021 19:16

Just had a look at this. Thank you looks perfect for this evening plus we are working our way through How I Met Your Mother at the minute so they will be pleased to see Neil Patrick Harris in it!

Will work our way through the rest of the list over the next few weeks thank you

Have they seen the Lemony Snickett tv series? NPH is in that as well and it's very funny.

2anddone · 29/12/2021 22:53

No they haven't @iklboo we tend to have a box set on the go which we all watch together so maybe that will be our next one thank you
