how to change my name to husband's name?

Hi everyone,

I got married a couple of months ago and still haven't gotten around to change my surname to my husband's surname.

I want to tackle this now - which organisations do I need to inform?

We only have one marriage certificate - can I send certified copies of the marriage certificate?

Thanks for any advice xx

God it’s everything!!

DVLA, banks, passports, loyalty cards, post, every bloody mailing list you’ve ever joined…

Can you tel I wish I’d kept my name Wink

Get more copies (you may not get some back if you have to send them off) and start with official ids - like passport. Once that is done your passport can be used to show name change

It's been a while since I did it, but I don't remember ever having to get copies of my marriage certificate. Companies I was dealing with online accepted a scanned copy, and those in person I took it in and they took a photocopy.

Unimportant places (Boots Advantage Card, Gym etc) just took my word without needing any proof.
