Camp America

Has anyone had a DC work at Camp America in recent years?
One of mine ( uni student, aged 21) is at the Interview stage.
They can't decide if they want to do Camp America or stay in the UK for an internship or summer job.
It would be really good to have some insight on Camp America please.

I worked for a Summer camp. I wouldn’t have done camp America as I didn’t want to pay for the experience and I had a friend who has done the camp previously so I knew it was trustworthy.

Others (at my camp) did camp America and if they didn’t like it then were removed and sent back to the uk very easily - I wouldn’t have had that experience as I’d bought my flights myself.

Mine was an all-girls camp and I loved it, would massively recommend it to anyone, but always going directly rather than through camp America.

I did it about ten years ago so not very recent. It was the hardest job I've ever had! Plus it was a massive and unexpected culture shock. But it was great, I grew up a lot over that summer plus I stayed in USA travelling for 2 months after camp finished.

I did Camp America way back in 1993! I have to say that it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I absolutely loved it. I was in an all girls' camp in Virginia, as an arts and crafts counsellor. When I think back to it I always smile and wish I were young enough to do it now!

I did it in 1993 also ! I worked in the laundry for six weeks which was lonely and grim but the travelling all over the Uc afterwards was amazing.
