Does your child have a lot of sugary snacks/ food on a daily basis?

If so do they have any dental problems?

Just wondering as I know everyone is different but my ds cannot handle much sugar without getting toothache whereas dd can eat much more and had no problems.

DS has a small amount of chocolate every day, sweets once a week. No dental problems, he's 8. Never complained of toothache and his check ups at the dentist are always fine. At his age I'm sure I already had fillings!

DS eats fruit like it's going out of fashion and this had affected his teeth (needed a filling recently and we are very keen on hygiene)

DD doesn't eat a lot of fruit she is a carb loader instead- her teeth are fine.

They have very different teeth anyway and also very different approaches to food.

Same genes different teeth

My kids have some chocolate every day. They also often have a hot chocolate, orange juice, biscuits or cake. They’re teenagers and have no fillings.

My son eats crap daily. Fizzy drinks, sweets, fruit, all the bad stuff. But he's 11 and has perfect teeth, regular check ups, always fine.

I’m going to be very honest and say I don’t really restrict any foods at all- Ds aged 9 and dd aged 19 can help themselves to practically whatever they like whenever they want. We don’t tend to like fizzy drinks as a family but they have chocolate, cakes, crisps etc and lots of fruit on a daily basis. Neither have had any dental issues whatsoever. None.
