Alex is awake now

My 3 year old has just told me that Alex (his penguin) is awake now after his nap.

He's told me this 13 times in about 2 minutes. Then he told his dad. We are in the car so we are all hearing the same conversation.

Alex only went to sleep about 30 seconds ago.

I thought telling you all night be the thing he needs to happen in order to STOP TALKING.

Why did Alex wake up? Is he hungry? Is Alex indirectly angling to be included in the conversation?

Clearly, the fact that Alex is awake is super important.

No idea 2bh. It appears that Alex is still breastfed and is also gender fluid, its been a he and a she interchangeably since it came into our lives 5 days ago.

Hi Alex. Do you want a fish or to go swimming?

Alex is going to be really grumpy later if he doesn't have a bit more sleep. Needs rocking and his head stroking til he drops off.

DueyCheatemAndHow · 28/12/2021 13:29

Alex can't respond right now because his owner has mercifully fallen asleep himself so Alex is having a cuddle.

It's a very cute picture even if I do say so myself.

Alex is a great name for a penguin.

I love penguins!

I apologise to Alex for making assumptions. Alex the EBF gender-fluid penguin sounds excellent.

Does your DS read First Dog on the Moon? Maybe Alex could be friends with Brenda the civil disobedience penguin.

DueyCheatemAndHow · 28/12/2021 18:53

He does not but I'm always on the scout out for other books!

First Dog on the Moon is a cartoon that appears in the Guardian, but I reckon three year olds could enjoy it just as much as adults. Smile

What's Alex up to this evening?

DueyCheatemAndHow · 28/12/2021 22:57

Ah see you can tell I'm not a Guardian reader!

Alex is now snuggled up with the 3 year old in bed after they had an afternoon visiting family. Obviously he is favoured as the cheap crappy cuddly toy we got from a visit to FC over the ludicrously expensive Jellycat I bought him.
