Pandora - why is there next to no gold charms for sale?

I have a gold braclet and I only want gold charms for it. Ive been waiting for them to bring out some new ones and all they seem to bring out is silver, rose gold and 2 tone? And if they have gold charms its Harry Potter or star wars. Am I missing something?
Does anyone here have a gold one cause I'd love to see it

They probably don't sell as much gold. However I would like to say that I think your bracelet looks lovely in gold. I am not a fan of the silvery coloured or rose coloured ones but that looks lovely

SituationCritical · 28/12/2021 10:31

They are not as popular as the silver and rose gold. I'm not a collectors, my niece works there!

TeacupDrama · 28/12/2021 10:31

the cost of gold is very high, they probably would not sell many as Pandora doesn't cater for the expensive end of the market but other retailers may sell gold charms which fit

Agree with PP that Pandora needs to appear as a ‘luxury’ but affordable brand so the masses feel they are getting something special and high end when it’s not. Therefore silver is cheaper than gold!

They're only gold plated. Probably less valuable in real terms than the sterling silver ones.

Have a look at Clogau gold they have gold charms www.clogau.co.uk/jewellery/charms.aspx

@Scrooge89 nice way to try to make the OP feel shit about a bracelet she clearly loves. Slow hand clap ...

I think pandora is quite a teenage brand. Therefore they probably sell much more in silver and rose gold as that fits their demographic. It will all be done based on sales.

Did they do more in the past, can you buy second hand charms? Have you tried emailing them to ask why they don't do much in gold?

Scrooge89 · 30/12/2021 23:37

🤷🏽‍♀️

Scrooge89 · 30/12/2021 23:37

I was just saying! She was asking about gold charms and I’m saying why Pandora don’t have them! Plenty of jewellers sell gold charms!

I also have a (mostly gold) charm bead bracelet. My actual bracelet is silver though as I like the contrast and a couple of my beads are, too. Pandora used to sell gold charms (real gold not plated) but they don't now and I've been wondering why, too, so I'm glad you started this thread OP (I can't wait to get some recommendations on where to get gold charms). My bracelet is in my bedroom where my baby's asleep right now but will post a pic tomorrow. I have found one of the hardest things in buying real gold charms is some are 9ct and others are 14k, making it hard to know what to search for. Places other than Pandora where I've bought gold charms are Chamilia (I don't think they're doing any gold ones atm though either) and Scarlett Jewellery scarlettjewellery.com/collections/mojo-charm-beads which is a UK-based small company that makes their gold beads out of recycled gold.
I have one from Clogau but again they seem to not be doing any right now except plated, and nor are Pia where I got my first gold charm beads many years ago (Pia don't even seem to do charm beads any more).
There's also gold beads available on Trollbeads but IMO they are unbelievably overpriced.

PeekabooAtTheZoo · 30/12/2021 23:52

Also I love your bracelet, it's gorgeous!

I’m sure OP is aware that Pandora bracelets are affordable luxury. There’s no shame in owning and enjoying something popular which is aimed at a really wide demographic like Pandora products are.

OP, I actually think you have just the right amount of charms on it at the moment.

Enough to be of interest, but not too many that they all blur into one.

Just had a quick nose on eBay lots on there

TeacupDrama · 31/12/2021 15:25

gold prices are high so even a smple gold charm with 3g of 9 carat gold ( trade price on 9 carat gold is £15.67 per gram) will have £45 grams worth of gold before it is shaped etc, mormal retail price is at least 3 -4 times precious metal value which would make it £150-200
