Anyone else feeling physically awful from all the crap eating?

I've been on a fairly downward spiral with food since Halloween but I've had a week now of total crap eating (maybe 2 weeks if you count the convenience eating I did while I tried to get everything finished up with work). I'm talking overeating regular food, festive food with the addition of loads of butter and cream, chocolate upon chocolate, and the other normal Xmas treats. I don't drink so at least I'm not chucking a hangover into the mix but by god I feel awful. Tired, lethargic, bloated and just physically shite Xmas Sad

Is it too early to start the New Years diet? The house is still so full of junk!!

Yes... My own fault though!

ladygindiva · 27/12/2021 20:30

yup. I hear you. And suddenly today I feel massive, and my thighs are rubbing together waaay more. However we still have some lindt and lots of red wine so The healthy plan won't start till New years Day!

Peakypolly · 27/12/2021 20:34

I am plodding my way through the junk and feel like shit. I am looking at a box of Lindt chocs wondering how long it will be until I can stomach them having let the cheesecake go down. I'm thinking half an hour...
Unfortunately I am accompanying this with the remaining two thirds of a bottle of Prosecco.
I'm away tomorrow (hence having to eat EVERYTHING) so can't start a healthy eating plan until January 6th, if I last that long.

Have you been out for a good walk in the cold? We went out for a couple of hours today and it did me a world of good.

My 'festive eating window' is now closed until New Year's Eve.

  1. Don't feel you have to use everything up - if you're sick of it and just eating it for the sake of it, get rid of it.
  2. With stuff you like and want to use up - have it instead of not as well as your meals - so have a lunch of posh cheese, or mince pies, for example.

Yep went for a good walk today after being squirreled up on the 25th and 26th, I actually felt worse after the walk with aching muscles and had to have a bath, though that is probably down to my thyroid issues (which is no doubt exacerbated by crap eating).

I thinks it's a combination of not moving as much as normal, shitty eating and tiredness following the manic lead up. But food is definitely the main culprit ~and my total lack of willpower~ Xmas Hmm

Ooh I do like the idea of the festive eating window though!

Yes, I have been following a WOE since Jan 2021 so I decided to have limited 'windows' to eat festive food so I wouldn't do too much damage over Christmas!

itsgettingweird · 27/12/2021 20:57

Yes! But I'm then eating more of it so it's fine and I can do a shop and make fresh soup everyday!

Mh stomach is sooooooo bloated 😫

I’ve learned that not every meal has to be Lindt. I can have porridge and fruit for breakfast, snack on carrot sticks AND have some Lindt too

.....and fruit cake! That counts towards the 5-a-day, right?
