Help with Microsoft Teams for interview please!

I have the Teams App on my laptop, downloaded for DS for schoolwork during lockdown.
I have an interview this week via Teams but all the information on the app relates to his school and school work.
I want to leave his school info on there in case of another lockdown, so how do I join the interview?
They’ve emailed me the invite link, I just don’t want anything to go wrong on the day! Can I join the interview leaving everything as it is?
Sorry for the thick question Blush
TIA

DS should have a log in for Teams. As long as he’s got those details, I’d just sign out of his account

Just click on the link they sent you. They will only see the chat and docs relating to that meeting invite.

Its alright. Your interview info on "Teams" will be kept separate, much like different threads on Mumsnet

Have a Teams linkup with someone among your friends and family to get used to it.

The important thing to check is making sure your DS didn't have it set up with a silly background or filters etc.

Yes, this is how the cat lawyer happened Grin Definitely test in advance and good luck with the interview OP!

As PP have said the link will take you directly to your interview.

Please make sure to check the background and as @DukeofEarlGrey said be sure you don’t have the cute fluffy baby kitten filter on. Unless you want to explicitly explain that they will not be hiring a kitten and that you are in fact an actual human. You can never be sure these days.

PrancingQueen · 27/12/2021 21:18

Thanks all!
And very good point re filters - I have seen the kitten lawyer Grin

Mole sure your settings allow camera and microphone use.

You'd need to change the display name as well.

CherryRedDMs · 27/12/2021 21:34

When you click on the link you will have the option to use the app or the browser, so you can stay out of the app completely if you want.

Can I also recommend that you double check the web cam
Settings. We were dicking around in an internal meeting with Snap Cam on Teams which I forgot to disable.

I joined a client consultancy session as Potato Donald Trump. My professionalism evaporated instantly in front of 50 odd people.

@PhilCornwall1 sorry, that made me laugh so much! Grin

Oh no @PhilCornwall1 that’s amazing. You’d have gone way up in my estimation if that popped up!

MaryStuart · 29/12/2021 01:36

(Not because I love DT I hasten to add)
Just what a pic!

PhilCornwall1 · 29/12/2021 04:06

Snap Cam is a lot of fun and worth installing for a laugh.

Our MD joined an internal session late and we all had different characters on waiting for her. Her immediate response was "WTF have I just walked into!!" We then spent the next 20 minutes getting her set up!
