What can we watch...

We are in the mid Christmas and new year lull and I fancy a cheeseboard and good gritty watch but DH and I have been looking for shy of an hour and can’t find anything we haven’t already seen...

We watch mostly British cop series, Luther, Manhunt, Happy valley etc but have recently turned off quite a few which I haven’t rated and found quite cliche and predictable.

Also love a good true crime documentary but seems to have seen so many that it’s hard to find a good one.

Give us a suggestion of something (doc, film or series) that’s going to pull us in, has complex characters and good layers to it.

Unforgotten, The Girl Before, You don’t know me, broadchurch?

mollymcguire · 27/12/2021 19:15

We are currently watching bad blood on Netflix, it's gritty, captivating, and I'm really enjoying it to the fact myself and dh haven't left the couch all day!

AColdDuncanGoodhew · 27/12/2021 19:16

Money Heist! Its been our favourite show, we've finished it now and I really miss it.

Must watch in Spanish with subtitles though, we tried with english dubbing and it was awful

Cheesymonster · 27/12/2021 19:17

Dopesick if you have Disney+

yorkshireteaspoonie · 27/12/2021 19:20

Mare of Easttown, Netflix

MustBeThin · 27/12/2021 19:20

We are currently watching a crime documentary called Relentless on Discovery+ but just seen that the first 2 episodes are on one of the crime channels on tv tonight.

amusedbush · 27/12/2021 19:21

Succession if you have Sky or Now TV. It’s fantastic, the characters are all awful people but so compelling. I can’t recommend it enough.

Loveatthe5anddime · 27/12/2021 19:21

@AnneLovesGilbert so loved Unforgotten and Broadchurch but the other two were in the category of getting switched off.

@Cheesymonster LOVED dopesick!!

@saltandherbsandnothingnice unfortunately my husband is a submariner and we got 2 episodes in before I gave up due to him scoffing at every single scene as unrealistic poorly done!!
