Extra long would be good too!

What you want are zip and link beds. This is an expensive version but they might do extra long ones... www.hypnosbeds.com/uk/our-beds/zip-link-beds

You could try contacting a few hotel chains and ask who supplies them.

Those look like what I am after. I have not seen them for sale on all of the usual websites. Are they really that expensive? I am considering getting a giant headboard, two beds and an additional double yopper as an alternative!

Not quite the same but I’ve heard of jewis people having a double bed that’s actually also separate mattresses (as a woman is unclean on her period and can’t share a mattress or sheet with her husband)

DaisyDreaming · 28/12/2021 01:58

I wonder if there’s any beds aimed at them?

No there are cheaper ones - Hotel Contract Beds sells to the general public - www.hotelcontractbeds.co.uk/zip-and-link-beds - and you can get matching headboards (or a giant headboard if you prefer) - not sure if they have extra long ones though...

We have 2 singles with a topper because a big bed wouldn't fit up the stairs. It works for us but there is a slight feeling of a ridge, still it helps me stay in my lane in the wee small hours.

Thanks. I am quite fussy about having all natural materials so two identical singles will probably work better. I will need to find a hotel style headboard that goes all the way across the wall with mini tables on either side. Any ideas where to find one? Separate headboards will probably look naff

I'll ask my Jewish friend about this although she is not religious so probably won't know what I'm on about!

We have a super king frame with 2 single mattresses - currently have a sk sheet and duvet across the whole bed, but having slept in many European beds with totally separate bed linen may switch to that at some stage. Having the 2 single mattresses also means we could each choose the firmness we wanted.

brieandbacon · 01/01/2022 20:00

It's a zip and link superking. Most bed shops do them. Or online. And you can each have a different type of mattress although these combinations are more expensive.
