If you're on the 'mumsnet six figures' salary what do you do and what geographical region is the role in?

I'd love to earn six figures and keen to look into how I could make this happen if possible.

Director if HR and OD. Complex public sector organisation so although London based, salary would be similar elsewhere in the country. Usually work a 55 hour week and was checking emails yesterday.

Please don't claim your husband's salary as your own. Embarrassing. Earn it yourself.

It makes me cringe when women come onto these threads with their DH's salary, happens every time.

Agree with @ComtesseDeSpair

Lots of people fancy a 6 figure salary. What’s your job at the moment? What are your skills and qualifications? What are you prepared to sacrifice?

I run a boarding cattery in London. I only work part time but run the business. It’s amazing and I love it. Had to have capital to start it up though.

HerculesMullligan · 27/12/2021 12:23

I agree that’s it’s a bit pointless (and cringy) to put your husband’s income on these threads.

This is mumsnet and most of the women posting here will have combined their career with having children in a way different to the average man’s career trajectory. What I find interesting on threads like this is the mothers who have managed to reach these high salaries.

LuchiMangsho · 27/12/2021 12:23

Not in the UK. I am in the US. Tenured academic at an R1 university. I earn 145,000 USD. DH is a primary care physician and an academic at an Ivy League University in the same city. He earns close to 350,000 USD. Both of us have PhDs and we were both 29 when we finished studying (and DH then went into residency). DH has some student loans which we are paying off but I don’t (I was an international student on scholarships).
