Fallen on my stomach 11 weeks twins

I'm just wondering if this has happened to anyone else. I've tripped over the dog yesterday and landed face down on my stomach. Winded myself pretty badly. I have no bleeding just bruised and feeling stupid. I sat in a&e for 3 hours yesterday, they tried to get me an earlier scan. But my next scan (this thursday) is the next available. Feeling very stressed out and worried that I may have hurt my babies.

At 11 weeks, they're so tiny and protected in there, it's unlikely that anything has happened. I'm sure everything will be OK.

Poor you that does sound scary but I think your body will have absorbed the impact and your babies will not be affected.

I fell and landed on my stomach when I was carrying twins three years ago. Five days later I had a placental abruption and lost them both at 19 weeks. I have no idea whether the two were connected and will never know. I don't say this to frighten you but you did ask if it had happened to anyone else. Thing is, at 11 weeks they are still very small and well protected so there's every chance they will be okay. Please update this thread after your scan in a few days and let me know. I really hope you - and they - are all alright Flowers

That sounds so painful… poor you.
I am NOT A DOCTOR but I also fell hard when I was about that stage with one of mine and it was fine. I slipped on some old stone steps and went hard onto my tail bone and sort of rolled onto my front. I remember the dr saying how protected by all the fluid, like a sort of giant bubble around them. I imagined it like being in a Zorb and they kind of agreed.
Rest up, and may your bruises heal fast.
And congratulations on your twins x

I dropped my 3 year old directly onto my stomach, it really hurt but the next DC was fine.

I'm pretty sure your babies would have just felt a minimal bounce.

Hope you're ok.

I had twins - I can understand why you are worried but at 11 weeks they are tiny tiny and protected by your pelvic bone I can imagine and lots of fluid so try not to worry. If you haven't had any bleeding I would assume everything is OK. But even if you have had bleeding its likely things are OK - I was in hospital for bleeding at 28 weeks and its a lot more common than you think.

JennyForeigner · 27/12/2021 07:54

Try not to worry, there is no hospital that couldn't give you a handheld ultrasound if they thought it would help.

I had twins this year. At around 12 weeks my two year old stumbled over the bed and landed on his knees full force on my belly. They were fine and midwives told us even quite serious car accidents and air bag deployment leave the babies unscathed.

Thank you everyone, sometimes you just need to hear from other people. My tummy is sore today but more around my ribs area. 1 side of my hip is a bit sore and a swollen knee. Still no bleeding. Me and my husband have been trying for a few years so I think I'm just being overly anxious. I will update after my scan Thursday morning xxx

I fell at 20 weeks pregnant. I was carrying my toddler so protected her in my fall rather than myself.
Baby is now a healthy excitable 8yo!

I got a full on kick into the stomach by a disabled child with severe learning disabilities who was in a wheelchair, when pregnant with my daughter. Think I was 4 months and she’s fine, she’s 10, thank God.. the shock and the worry is the worst.. at a time you’re more worried about yourself than normal. Please God the time will pass quickly for your scan to come..

update had my scan today. Both babies are okay. Such a relief seeing them jumping all over the place. I will be more careful in future xx
