So I'm (like many other people) a little bit chubby (cough) and need to drop some weight, and want to get fit.

I dont like cold, or going outside, and i'm not really a people person, so group stuff,.... nah

I'm thinking that I could do some workouts from my smart tv - and would like a good variety...!

So, what am I asking? Do you have a good FUN!! workout that you got online? I also have the elegance of a wounded slug.....

I will try (most) that are linked, for at least 30 5 minutes! Show me what you got and drop your links!!

Anything les mills on demand. If your new to exercise try the tone

Omicrone · 26/12/2021 20:31

Yep, Les Mills On Demand. Its 11 quid a month but so worth it! The instructors are genuinely really inspiring and motivating and it's the only exercise really that I ever properly stuck to for more than a few weeks.

Not an online workout but I enjoy using a weighted hula hoop

Look at ‘teambodyproject’ - free on YouTube and cheap to subscribe. Loads of workouts to choose from. I’m like you and find them really motivating. Real exercise for real people.

I do a lot of Team Body Project too. Also Bodyfit by Amy.

normanthegonk · 26/12/2021 20:48

Emkfit videos on YouTube are very fun, I can't keep up and probably look like a flailing hippo but oh always have fun doing the routine.
Another good one for building fitness is couch2fitness by OurParks

I do yoga at home while watching tv. I have a routine I have written down on paper which I follow. So I can watch tv while I do it. I tried yoga dvds but found them too boring so didn’t do very often

TooMinty · 26/12/2021 20:53

There's some good workout programs on the Nike app. The trainers are a bit annoyingly enthusiastic though...

ScreamingMeMe · 26/12/2021 20:55

I like walking workouts at the moment - they're pretty fun. There are a variety on YouTube. (They also do other things like arm excercises and dance parties). You don't need equipment for most of them.

Heather Robertson on youtube - her workouts are AMAZING and so much variety you never have to do the same one twice. Lots of low impact HIIT as well which makes me sweat like nothing else! Caroline Girvan is another fantastic one. I recommend getting a set of dumbbells too. You wont regret it!

FlowerArranger · 26/12/2021 21:29

Rebecca Louise - very energetic but not too challenging

Growingannanas - great all-round HIIT

Caroline Girvan is great but quite advanced and focused on working out with weights

MrsDThomas · 26/12/2021 21:39

I came on to say Heather Robertson too. She’s good. I hate the whoop whoop awesome shouty people. Heather doesn’t speak!

drinkwithanumbrellainit · 26/12/2021 22:00

Frame on demand is ridiculously good fun. 80s and 90s workouts, Beyonce Barre, dance fit.

ThePug · 26/12/2021 23:12

I liked Lily Sabri on YouTube - loads of free workouts of varying lengths and focus areas, decent music, she wasn't too annoying etc. managed to stick with it over the summer doing 20 mins or so most days and lost the weight I wanted to

Worldgonecrazy · 26/12/2021 23:19

Caroline Girvan is brilliant. Her workouts really make a difference to your level of fitness, and her focus on functional fitness is so important to staying healthy all your life. She dies a lot of strength work, so your body becomes strong with out being bulky. Definitely recommend her!

thingymaboob · 26/12/2021 23:20

Buy a step and look up beginners step on you tube. I follow a woman called Karla Luster who has online step fitness classes ranging from beginner to advanced. Her company is called "fit outside the box". Her routines are really fun and challenging.

When I started to do home step, I learnt the real basics with Jenny Ford and just built up. I started with 15/20 minutes but can now (pre pregnancy) do 45 mins / 60 mins intensive sessions.

bonfireheart · 26/12/2021 23:48

LadyCleathStuart · 26/12/2021 23:54

Love Pamela Reif on YouTube, she does short dance work out videos and doesn't talk which is brilliant I hate re-doing work outs and hearing the host say the same thing over and over and over each time.

Also like Bodyfit by Amy.

TheChosenTwo · 26/12/2021 23:57

So so much on YouTube, you don’t need to buy a single thing!
I got really into Joe wicks during the lockdown, did them at work with the kids and now quite often stick one on if I’m not planning on getting out of the house to exercise etc, literally 20 minutes of HIIT.
He’s quite annoying and there are so many others who do a more adult version (although his kids ones he did were adequate enough as exercise!!) but it’s a good place to start.

RubyFakeLips · 27/12/2021 00:03

Also came to recommend Grow with Jo.

Will try some of the others on here.

Tbh, my best thing has been finding moves I can do, made a list, jumble them each morning and then do 45 seconds on, 15 seconds jogging on the spot. I listen to a podcast or audiobook and go for half hour or so each morning. I realised I can only exercise, I need something to distract my brain from the exercise otherwise it all feels too hard and I stop, when I’m decently distracted I can really push myself to keep going.
