My 4 month old is only taking 3 ounces each time and his nappies are very dry. Do you think there's a problem??

He's in very grumpy form and sleeping a lot. Should I ring doctor ?

Explain 'very dry'...

How long have they been dry for? Is he passing any urine at all?

Yes he needs to be seen by a doctor.

I’m a paeds a&e nurse and would want a doc to check him over asap

Home I have does he usually drink? How long is it that his nappies have been dry for?

endofagain · 26/12/2021 14:56

How is his breathing? There is RSV going around at the moment. Have a look on the NHS website and ring 111 if you need advice.

How much*

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 26/12/2021 14:56

You're really not being that specific here OP. Im a nurse parctitioner and im trying to help.

If hes not passing urine, or very little, you to either take him to A+E or at the very least phone 111.

Feeding little and often is key when they're ill.

How is he in himself?

Has he been unwell? Cough temp vomiting?

How much has he been feeding? Less than half than normal? Is he waking for feeds? When was his last wet nappy?

Id rather be safe than sorry at this age and get over to a&e

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 26/12/2021 14:58
