Good cutlery make? Viners?

I want to treat us to some good cutlery in the sales. We’ve always had really crap cutlery and I want a good, grown up set (I am 46!).

I’m thinking of Viners because that’s literally all I know because my parents had it!

Any other ideas?

Robert Welch every time!

@Rainallnight I love Robert Welch. Not cheap but good quality

CurlsandCurves · 26/12/2021 14:35

I love my Judge cutlery. It’s lasted years and it’s reasonably priced. Harts of Stur is a good site to look at various brands on.

Just ordered an Arthur Price set I’ve had my eye on which was massively reduced day - Highgrove

ColleysMill · 26/12/2021 14:39

I have 2 lots of Arthur Price - best set and one we use for everyday

Bollindger · 26/12/2021 14:41

Get some that are all one piece.
I got two sets the same 27 years ago, still using them.

comeundone · 26/12/2021 14:41

We've had a Viner's set for the last 12 years of everyday use. Has been through dishwasher thousands of times. WMF set for best but that rarely gets used due to kids.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/12/2021 14:43

Mine is Arthur Price. I got it in TK Maxx, so might be worth a look?

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 26/12/2021 14:59

My Stellar cutlery is still going strong after 20 odd years.

The4teddybears · 26/12/2021 15:19

Arthur Price. They have a very good factory shop in lichfield Staffordshire . Worth a visit if not too far away from you

Isseywith3witchycats · 26/12/2021 15:20

Viners is excellent my set lasted for about 15 years (all in one stainless steel) i only gave it away as my partner and i moved in together and he had a huge cutlery set which is Solingen the new set is lovely good weight looks good and washes over and over again but isnt a cheap set

AnotherMansCause · 26/12/2021 15:23

Viners is good, I've had mine over 20 years & it still looks nice.

OrangeBlossom28 · 26/12/2021 15:34

Robert Welch for definite.

SoMuchToBits · 26/12/2021 15:36

WMF. Have had mine for about 16 years now and still use it all the time.

toastofthetown · 26/12/2021 15:36

I have Villeroy & Boch and really like it.

RumJerrySailorRum · 26/12/2021 15:37

Viners is made by Oneida so search for that.

Whatwillbetheendofus · 26/12/2021 15:38

Newbridge silverware

JohnSmithDrive · 26/12/2021 15:42

I've got a Viners set we got as an Engagement present 30 + years ago. TBH though the stuff from IKEA is a nicer weight to use, the Viners feels flimsy to me.

I do think it's one of those brands that produces quite a range of different qualities though.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 26/12/2021 15:46

WMF - wedding present 21 years ago. Still
Looking good.

Woofydogg · 26/12/2021 15:50

Oneida here. 15 years old and still going strong!

SW1amp · 26/12/2021 15:52

Robert Welch

The original set is 20+ years and looks new, and it’s still really easy to get additional bits for it - where the hell do teaspoons disappear to..?

vinoandbrie · 26/12/2021 16:01

Another vote for Robert Welch! I’ve had for many years and still love it.

Samanabanana · 26/12/2021 16:05
