This is why I can't wrap presents ahead of time!!

Ordered first presents 6 weeks ago, wrapped as I went. Novelty, felt organised, all good.

Realised yesterday that one of the gifts hadn't ever arrived, so had a whinge at customer services, got a refund, but no bloody use on CE.

Watched in disbelief as DS opened said present this morning🙄. I'd wrapped it and forgotten it's existence.

I'm an idiot. And embarrassed. Has anyone in living memory ever had to apologise to Amazon?!

Not amazon.
I once ordered some silver wire for jewellery making. It came and I was convinced it was the wrong thickness (measured with micrometer). I complained and they sent out more at no charge, but when that arrived it was the same lot as the first.

The upshot was that the micrometer wasn't working properly.

Phoned them up and paid for 2nd lot. Gave them all a good laugh.

I keep a little notebook with lists and tick off as i wrap. Otherwise i wouldn't have a clue!

RandomMess · 25/12/2021 10:05

We have it all written down, 4 DC and each has their own wrapping paper so we don't need to write labels 😉

I’ve not had to apologise to Amazon but I have to Ocado. I’d somehow missed an item (it was in a bag with frozen food) I phoned to explain I was an idiot and the man I spoke to though it was hilarious, he said he’d never had someone call to apologise, only to complain. He said he was refunding the non missing item anyway due my honesty Xmas Blush

I’m sure Jeff Bezos can afford it OP! You have made me chuckle. Shame for person on Customer Service but hopefully you weren’t too mean to them. Merry Chaotic Christmas.

lborgia · 25/12/2021 10:23

It a wasn't the missing product that made me stroppy, it was their attitude. Wasted on me I suppose.

I can't not tell them, annoyingly, it would bother me for ages!

That's genius!

I'd probably have to cut and write the name with sharpie on a piece of each so I remembered which kid was which though 🤦‍♀️🤣

@itsgettingwierd

We have to write in the book whose is whose paper!

DD3 is always snowmen though

DD4 usually Santa clause

And so on, still wrote us down though!!

I do the same but on my phone. A list of gifts I've bought each child, then tick as I wrap. I still managed to cock it up though when I forgot to add a gift I'd bought one child, then discovered it, then realised one child had 6 presents and one had 7, so then had to take one of the Santa presents to make it up to 7 presents each. Then had to scrounge around the house for another small Santa gift so that both kids had the same number 🙄

Don't apologise to Amazon. They're an unethical company, screw them.

Make a financial donation in the same amount to a charity and consider your conscience clear.

And don't feel bad- everyone make silly mistakes like that once in a while!

Unfortunately yes. Because I have literally done the exact same thing with one of my DS's gifts. Grin In my defence, when I checked my Amazon account yesterday because I thought it wasn't here, Amazon said it was undeliverable and they would refund within 7 days. Then DS opened it this morning, I was Confused so checked the app again and it says it was delivered the 17th November!
