We are a house full of Covid and have been really poorly with it and it took all my muster to do the online shop last week. Date for (sealed, obviously chilled) beef joint was yesterday....!

To eat it or not to eat it, that is the question...

It will be absolutely fine 😊

gamerchick · 24/12/2021 18:12

They dont it waiting for midnight and decide to go off.

Give it a sniff, it should smell inoffensive and not feel slimy to the touch

Artichokeleaves · 24/12/2021 18:12

Does it smell ok? I'd cook it now, tonight, cook it well, then slice it down and slow cook it a little longer in gravy.

Does it smell? If not you’ll be grand

Countmeout · 24/12/2021 18:12

I would cook it tonight as I always figure if it’s cooked it can’t go off any further. I’m sure that’s not logical.

GinTonic123 · 24/12/2021 18:13

Sniff it! If good I would cook it now and reheat in gravy. If not, then I would be considering other options including a „do you remember when the beef went off and we only had side dishes to eat“ scenario …. Viel Glück

@gamerchick - our sense of smell is a little off par thanks to Le Covid Grin

It’ll be fine. Don’t forget, places like Hawksmoor do steaks that have been hung for a couple of months.

ShirleyPhallus · 24/12/2021 18:18

It will absolutely fine

LynetteScavo · 24/12/2021 18:19

It'll be fine.

It will be fine.
21 day hung beef isn't going to turn that quickly. And if its in one of those vacuum sealed bags, it's not going to get exposed to anything nasty.

Enjoy your beef for dinner.

VioletLemon · 24/12/2021 18:21

It'll be totally fine. Stick it onto Cook tonight. Enjoy!!

Shieldingending · 24/12/2021 18:24

It will be fine , honestly! Enjoy and I hope you feel better soon
