How/when to defrost chicken?

Can anyone help with this?
2kg fresh (ie not frozen) chicken. Bought a week ago and I froze it straight away as the use-by date was yesterday.
It’s for Christmas dinner tomorrow mid afternoon. So when should I get it out of the freezer, and should I then put it in the fridge or just on the kitchen surface?
Thank you

I'd have got it out last night to put in the fridge. If you get it out now I'd defrost outside if you have a garden as it's likely to be slightly warmer than the fridge but not warm enough to risk bacteria growing.

Night before on kitchen counter in a bowl to catch drips. It won’t defrost properly in the fridge.

Get it out the freezer now and leave on a big plate / cooking tray on the kitchen side.

Ours is 3kg and I put it in the cold porch this morning at 9am. I will put it in the fridge this evening.

I have bought a meat thermometer as precaution!!
