Can I see your kitchen for inspiration? Small space

Brownie points if it’s small 😬

I’ve recently moved after separating from dh along with my 2 children .

I’ve gone from largish kitchen space to a small one, not the issue but it’s pretty grim.

I’m keen on real kitchens and any great ideas you have to maximise storage.

I also will have a job fitting a large table in. The is no other room for a dining table only the living room.

Many thanks

mine isnt massive but not tiny its 14 foot long and11 foot wide we got our kitchen from DIY Kitchens and went for more cupboards and no dishwasher in an L shape and i have managed to squeeze a rectangular table in sorry this is only part of it but went for 4 cupboards at the top and a run of base units with a free standing cooker

Another vote for DIY kitchens
This is mine when it was new 3 years ago (I wouldn't like to show a pic of it today)

It's about 3.2 x 2.8 if I remember correctly and it is open plan into my lounge in my self build.

DIY kitchens have a great online design tool and most cupboards come in 50mm increments so can be pretty well bespoke at a very reasonable cost.

Drawers not cupboards. One of mine is a cupboard with internal basket drawers which is excellent for finding things. Full height cupboards have pull out units inside so also accessible right to the back. And one of my favourite things is my wall unit has a bifold door going upwards. I can put things away without risking banging my head and when I am cooking I can keep it open so everything is accessible without having to open doors with sticky hands.

When I separated from my ex I went from large kitchen diner to a house with a tiny kitchen so I've been there, although I didn't have kids.

Best tip I have is Oxo good grips square storage tubs. I bought lots of them, a little foldaway step, and had enough space to store them on top of the wall units. I kept staples like flour, rice sugar, plus spices, cereal, dried chilli etc. Frees up the wall units for plates, mugs, cans etc and keeps surfaces clear.

I also bought a wood chopping board thing from ikea that can go on top of hobs or sinks to give you extra work surface and stows away when not in use.
