Just a bloody rant, 2 weeks ago our kitchen floodgates flooded due to a leak from the bathroom above, I have been telling DH for over 6 months that their was a problem, due to the flood we have had to rip our bathroom out and we are making a wet room, hubby is quite good at this as he had a construction business doing renovations.
After 2 weeks we are still without a floor in the bathroom and only have a downstairs loo, we are using a camping shower in the garden or going to someone else's house to shower.
Yesterday he was feeling poorly so took himself to bed for the day and this morning he got up and said he is off to his friends house to help them out.
My house is a building site and as normal we are hosting Christmas Dinner.
Will 8 bottles of wine see me through?

Might also have to buy more cheese and replace a chocolate orange while getting extra wine.

Our daughter has just reminded me that I have 2 bottles of baileys hidden, 1 we bought for her but she now can by drink due to Number 7 grandchild on his or her way (its their second much wanted child that they never thought they would have)

You might also need a new shovel and some cement. That patio is looking a bit lopsided. Is that a six foot lump on the left side by the fence?

6demandingchildren · 23/12/2021 16:56

It's 6.1 to be precise , thanks for the heads up

Ha, love this. Well done to your daughter for remembering the Baileys!

What wine? You don’t have any do you Wink

Shame that you have none so can’t share! Advise a shopping trip to source appropriate amounts.

6demandingchildren · 23/12/2021 17:12

All plans have now changed DH is going to have to prep all good tomorrow and do the cleaning while I source some of my favourite wine

Don't forget the twiglets.

I think you need to double your wine stash if you're expected to share it. Can you hide an emergency stash somewhere?

How about building an above ground wine cellar on the left hand side of the new patio?
