Hi my baby got diagnosed with cleft lip and palette at 20 week scan which led me to have a amniocentesis which came back normal however at my 30 week growth scan his EFW dropped around 7th percentile im just wondering if anyone else has had a baby with a cleft and IUGR and there was no chromosome issue? It's making me worry that there is an issue that wasn't picked up on a amnio as I'm 5"10 and baby dad is 6"2 so not typical to have a small baby. Or anyone's experiences with growth scans being accurate? I'm really hoping he doesn't have IUGR and their measurements are wrong. Thank you

My DD had her first baby nearly a month ago. At her 28 week scan they told her that her placenta was failing and the baby wasn't growing well, IUGR. Low fetal weight and below the 1st centile on a couple of measures. They decided to scan weekly and probably induce at 32 weeks.

At 32 weeks they decided to let her go to 34, at 34 to 36, at 36 no scan and no induction until 39 weeks and at 39 let her go to term. Her baby was perfect. Just over 3kgs, with the parts that were supposedly too small just fine. Now doing well.

The stress was awful. And all for nothing.

Yeah, I was told I had IUGR with baby no 2. At 36 weeks they wanted him out. I hung on to 37 weeks and was induced. He was 8 lb on the nose!

my daughter was diognised with a cleft lip and now at 32 weeks have found my Doppler flow is high. I went for the amniocentesis and just really worried about the results. All of her scans have been noted as normal.
