As in, something that shows on an enhanced DBS?

I do Sad it is quite minor in the scheme of things but hate having to explain it and puts me off applying for jobs!

When was it registered? Depending on the severity it may not show. The rules changed last year and old convictions often don’t show. Look at this website (they also gave a help line) you can work out if it will still be there.

In answer to your question, no I don’t have a criminal record. But I’ve recruited and was glad to see this change brought in. Ridiculous that a one off offence 10/15 years ago remained forever!

Are you sure it’ll show? I have a caution for assault and I don’t declare it and it didn’t show up for a job in a school which I got.
They recently changed the list of filtered offences too so you might be lucky

Early 2020, so yes, it will still be there, although I’m glad it won’t be there forever.

It’s worth checking how long till it’s gone though so that you have a date in mind where it won’t be hanging over you. I totally understand how you feel I used to be so embarrassed but it was such a weight lifted when I knew it wouldn’t show even on enhanced dbs.

You’ll get there and good luck. Hopefully it’ll not be too long

6 years as far as I can see.

Just 4 to go!
