Hi everyone. Firstly, I would like to apologise if I’ve posted this on the wrong page (I’ve never posted on here before, I’m unsure what I’m doing)
This probably seems very daft. However, I’m curious to know what other people think.
Last month I received an email from Facebook that said - ‘We've noticed that you're having trouble with logging in to your account. If you need help, click the button below and we'll log you in.’
As soon as I saw this email I was baffled, I’d not attempted to login - this Facebook account has been deactivated since 2010. After the above email, I attempted to login to this account. However, I used the wrong password. (It’s been 10+years since I logged into this account, I had forgotten the password). As a result of this, I ended up changing the password.
After the password was successfully changed, I tried to log in with the new password. However, when I attempted to login, all that came up was ‘To help us check that this account belongs to you, we need a photo of your official ID.’ ‘Upload your ID’
I tried to log in a couple of times but I kept getting the same message ‘upload your ID’ it wouldn’t let me click on to the ‘upload your ID button’ nothing would appear. Basically, I was unable to gain access to the account.
I thought nothing more of it and accepted that I was unable to gain access to the account.
Fast forward 5 weeks, I tried to log in to the account the other night. This time it was successful. I managed to get on to the account. God knows how or why - I’d never done the ‘upload your ID’?
The biggest question I’m wanting to know is - does anyone know if this Facebook account would have remained deactivated during those 5 weeks? Or would it have reactivated all of those weeks ago when I first attempted to login with the new password?
If anyone has ever experienced the same problem, or if you know what’s happened, could you please let me know.
