What device or gadget do you need to store or back up photos from a phone?

My not very techy dad wants to buy his not very techy partner a memory stick or similar to store all her photos in case she loses her phone (Samsung, don’t know model). He’s asked me to order something but I’m a bit clueless as I use an iPhone and iCloud. Can anyone advice what we need?

SD card? I vaguely remember DH having one before he saw the light & joined me with an iPhone.
There is Samsung cloud too.

Or

I think you’d need to find out exactly what phone she has tbh but bumping in case anyone can help.

Micro SD card

Don't buy physical storage - there'll be some sort of cloud system that just needs to be set up once. Much easier and more reliable.

This.

You can use Google photos and unless you have completely insane amounts it will be free and automatic.

Tbh, she probably has it backed up to the cloud anyway if she has a Google account
