How quickly can you get Covid again, and does the variant change that?

If I had Covid a month ago, what are the chances of catching again? I’m due to see a friend today whose DH has just tested positive. She has already had it, about 4 months ago. Could she transmit it to me and could I transmit it to someone else despite recently having it? Not sure how the new variant impacts this and trying to protect elderly relatives I’ll be seeing on the 25th. Thanks!

I know someone who had it twice in six weeks - second time was a different variant.

DD has it for the second time in four months. I was pretty surprised you could catch it again that quickly.
