help how can I get a fire lighter to work?

one of those long ones.
the clicker is still sparking and I think I have refilled it...

of courseI lost the instruction...

Keep clicking it until the gas goes up to the spark?

Click the button until it lights?

Can you hear gas in it if you shake it?

I can't hear anything when shaking it.

when I 'refilled' it, i.e. stuck the nozzle in, the handle got cold and the refill bottle noticably emptier.

there is a little handle and 'tuner' for the flame at the bottom.

Pull in the trigger and try to light the gas nozzle with a match to see if gas is coming out. If it won't light then there is no gas, if it does then the ignition is not working.
Perhaps try turning the flame size up by lifting the tab and twisting in the +ve direction.
