Big families - what motivates you to have more children?

Hear me out, I promise im not coming for you guys. I have 3 children & they're amazing. 3 kids is hard work, expensive & incredible busy. I read a thread someone planning more children when they have 6 or so already & it got me wondering what does kid number 7 bring that 1,2,3,4,5 & 6 didn't?
They have siblings, you have experienced motherhood / fatherhood enjoyed all ages - these where my motivations to have 3 so im really, genuinely curious because it must be so hard work to look after so many kids and the sacrifices you must make too.

I’ve only got 3 (and can’t have anymore)
But I always think if I was very rich with a big house, no need for a job and could have hired help. I’d have 8.
Because my kids are so funny and a pleasure to be around. And when adults you have lots of company and happiness and love. Etc.

I do find it puzzling when people have loads of kids and can’t afford it or treat the kids like crap

I don’t have a huge family, but I do have four children.

Honestly, I think the family attrition rate for my generation (30% didn’t make 30) meant that I knew that starting off with with 2 children doesn’t automatically mean you finish up with 2 children.

This is with hindsight, though. At the time I just wanted more children.

I also live in a cheap area, so lived in a large 5 bedroomed house, which meant that it was easy to fit in dc4.
