Amazon Prime Groceries - why do the delivery drivers leave the blue bags?

They are large blue insulated bags that say Property of Amazon all over them. We’ve been told that the bags need to be returned to base.

But for the third time now, a driver has ‘accidentally on purpose’ left the bags behind. Once I chased after the driver with the bag but she was determined not to stop.

Today’s driver has left the large blue bag in the middle of the road.

We are so bemused! Why do they do it?!

Yes, the paper bags are stored inside the blue insulated bags.

I've got one of those. Tried numerous times to get them to take it back. It now lives in the boot of my car and comes in very handy when shopping in Iceland.

I have also acquired two large tall foldable containers, about the size of a wheely bin that are used by drivers to transport multiple parcels. They are very useful for lugging stuff up to my flat from the car.

I just can't figure out why they want to leave these and don't get in trouble for doing so.
