Stollen disappointment

WTF have Aldi done to their 'luxury' stollen? It's transformed from the delicious fluffy marzipan delight of previous years to a dried out brick. Don't think I just got an over baked one because my parents are devastated about theirs too Grin
Where can I go to reinvigorate the stollen joy of Christmas?

I’m getting a Tesco one in my order tomorrow. Stollen is my favourite Christmas food, so 🤞. I was going to make one, but my baking is a bit hit or miss, and I don’t have a day off now until 30 Dec, so I really couldn’t be bothered!

Do you have a Cooplands bakery nearby? Because their stollen bites are

Never had one yet that wasn't a dried out brick. Vile stuff.

I used to think that, then tried Lidl's last year, it was FAR too good!! I was so looking forward to it this year, but they don't have the same sort this year. The luxury one isn't 'all that' which is both disappointing & a relief!!

I love stollen, but I haven't found one that is palm oil free, so I don't have one for this year Sad

I shall console myself by assuming they're all like yours @LakeFlyPie
Commiserations!
