Horse puncher sacked

I just read that Sarah Moulds that dreadful woman who was caught on video kicking and punching a horse has been sacked from her job as a teacher. Can't say I'm sorry.

@Megan2018

I’m very sad for her. She would’ve been DD’s teacher soon. The community here is very sad about it all. Her behaviour was unacceptable but the witch hunt unnecessary. It’s our children that are suffering- not the trolls online that have rejoiced in it all.
It's also the horse that she attacked that's suffering Hmm. I don't agree with the hounding and death threats though.
Santahatesbraisedcabbage · 21/12/2021 14:25

Imagine her techniques if the students don't behave...

SinisterBumFacedCat · 21/12/2021 14:27

She kicked the horse once. Slapped it across the face 4 times, back and forth with her hand left to right. Then she yanked it into the horse box with some force all the while very obviously yelling angrily.

I mean, I don’t know if it’s enough for some but to me that is definitely animal cruelty. The thing about abusers is they are like icebergs, you only see the veneer slip rarely, but what goes on behind closed doors is much worse. So no, I don’t mind that she lost her job, she shouldn’t be anywhere near animals, children or vulnerable people professionally.

HeronLanyon · 21/12/2021 14:33

I completely agree any death threats are absolutely outrageous. Also feel it’s right she is not in a position of care/support/role model/discipline for young children (or anyone or any animal for that matter)

I know 2 families in the local area who are not sad at all about it, they’re angry at her. It’s the horse that suffered. The poor horse who could do nothing but stand there and be kicked and punched. Your kids will be fine, in fact better without this violent person in contact with them at school.

Pathetic little angry woman. I don’t condone any threats but I don’t care that she’s getting them. She just needed to not abuse the horse. It’s not hard.

Mookie81 · 21/12/2021 14:40

@SinisterBumFacedCat

There is a crazy amount of deleted posts on her, what is MNHQ up to? Hmm (awaits post deletion)
Based on what I've seen over the years, I suspect if she belonged to different demographics there would be less deletion.
RightOnTheEdge · 21/12/2021 14:50

To all the people saying she shouldn't have lost her job, how do you think anyone could have any respect for her in the classroom?
What kind of example is she setting?

In my dc's school one of the golden rules is "kind hands and feet" how could she hold the children to that rule and not be seen as a massive hypocrite?

People saying that if you eat meat you are not allowed to be sad and angry about pets being abused are utterly ridiculous Hmm

Porcupineintherough · 21/12/2021 15:03

Of course they can be sad and angry about pets being abused @RightOnTheEdge, it just makes them (and I include myself in their number) a wee bit hypocritical . Unless you are claiming that horses experience fear and pain differently to pigs, cows or sheep.

Rosieparkerss · 21/12/2021 15:09

I don’t know if any of us are on H&H forum but it’s frightening how many hunt supporters are on there claiming that horses respond well to threats of violence and violence. Also trying to detract from what the women did by blaming sabs!

I have always said that the horse world attracts the best and the worst of people and this incident really does show that.

I don’t eat meat but I don’t see why I should fuel the detractors by getting in to that with them. Whataboutery etc.

rosie very much agree with ‘best and worst’. I’ve known absolutely awful horse owners and am frequently really shocked by cruel treatment or casually tossing them aside when they need help (vets bills) etc. Also know excellent and caring owners. I’m extremely wary around horsey types until I know a bit more.
Rosieparkerss · 21/12/2021 15:28

@HeronLanyon absolutely- I keep my distance until full assessment made Grin

RightOnTheEdge · 21/12/2021 15:43

I'm just bored of all the whataboutery.
Its terrible a horse got treated so badly!
but why don't you care about the chickens?
What about the men?
What about homeless veterans?
Its tiresome. Every time there is a thread about horseracing or animal abuse you just get if you eat meat then you shouldn't get an opinion on this.
Being a vegetarian for animal welfare reasons but not vegan is hypocritical because of the way we get milk but every little bit helps whether it's not eating meat or its donating money to help pandas.

Of course farming standards should be questioned and we should all be concerned for all animal welfare but thats not the point of the post. Farming and killing animals is not illegal.
Kicking and punching your pet is. It's also an issue if the person in question is a teacher in charge of young children and can't control their temper.

Completely agree with this. There is a group of people doing waah, waah what about the Olympic, what about the sabs, what if she had a bad day. The horse wandered off, came back and she took out her violent temper on it. Nasty women being defended by equally nasty others.
AlfonsoTheUnrepentant · 21/12/2021 15:58

I am glad she has lost her job.

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/12/2021 17:51

Didn’t the olympics get changed so that event no longer has a horse riding component?

You know when you sign up to be a professional that more is expected of you by society. Not less.

If you live by the sword you will die by it too, the fact no one intervened means it’s routine behaviour. Your an out and out bully if you think it’s ok to hit or kick animals. My rescue cat bites when she’s scared, I don’t hit her I do my best to make her life better instead and act in a consistent way so she learns I’m not going to hit her. She’s slowly learning to trust me.

LynetteScavo · 21/12/2021 19:36

I think we should ask the Queen. She's a horse enthusiast. We could see what she thinks should happen to Sarah Moulds and run with that

I’ve had two beers whilst wrapping presents. I wouldn’t like to inflict beer breath on Her Majesty.

Your DD has had a very lucky escape 😬

Hardly role model material this woman kicking and punching an animal. I mean we all have bad days, but there's no excuse for this at all.

5thnonblonde · 21/12/2021 21:05

I also wondered what the boring HR paperwork cites as the reason for dismissal- maybe harming the school’s reputation? I’m a liberal vegan anti-hunt type (and a nosy pedant!) in case anyones wondering the motive for this query…

5thnonblonde · 21/12/2021 21:08

Oh thanks to pps who posted the link to teachers’ standards, does seem quite a clear cut case for dismissal

Viviennemary · 21/12/2021 21:09

She might sue for wrongful dismisssl. Wouldn't be surprised. I wondered too. Surely the school got their facts straight and wouldn't run the risk of losing a legal case.

OP posts:
Kshhuxnxk · 21/12/2021 21:11

@Megan2018

She is not a nasty piece of work. We are a tiny community (the school has less than 50 kids 5-11) we all know of each other. I have a horse, I wouldn’t hit mine like that. I don’t agree with what she did but it’s a huge overreaction whipped up by sabs and the media. It is very sad here.
You wouldn't hit yours like that so do you hit it harder or not as hard?

Unless they got any of the process wrong she would be on a hiding to nothing with that.
