Horse puncher sacked

Viviennemary · 20/12/2021 22:10

I just read that Sarah Moulds that dreadful woman who was caught on video kicking and punching a horse has been sacked from her job as a teacher. Can't say I'm sorry.

OP posts:
LittleDidSheKnow · 21/12/2021 12:50

And that has led to her losing her job. Her actions.
Not the media. Not the braying mob

Do you really think that without the media coverage, the outrage on countless internet forums (like here, for example) at this case; and without the all those angry eyes demanding 'justice' on them that her employers would still have taken the same action as they did?
It is possible, of course, but I think it likely that a lower publicity of this same act would have resulted in a lesser action by them.

I hasten to reiterate that I found this woman's actions despicable.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 21/12/2021 12:57

I wasn’t braying for her to be sacked from her job. I do think she should have been prosecuted.

If the board who sacked her were swayed by the media then that is on them. They may have heard about it locally and came to the same conclusion. We don’t know.

I saw a woman punch a beautiful animal and so yes, her actions had consequences.

If she had treated the horse with kindness, she would still be in a job.

PearlclutchersInc · 21/12/2021 13:00

megan Please don't try to defend the woman and certainly not with the attitude of "she would have been DD's teacher". If she wasn't would that have made a difference?

Effectively you're saying that you don't give a shit about cruelty towards animals, and there's enough of that out there without people trying to justify it just because they know them.

CheshireCats · 21/12/2021 13:02

@LittleDidSheKnow Your argument is flawed. The media etc only reported HER ACTIONS. If she hadn't have done it, they would have had nothing to report. She has lost her job as a result of her own despicable actions.

Alayalaya · 21/12/2021 13:04

This behaviour will be seen as conduct unbecoming of a teacher. Teaching has very strict social media policies, you have to maintain a good public image and this lady has not. The same applies to other professions such as medicine where people need to be respectable. It’s not a new thing but has been a requirement of professions for many years.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 21/12/2021 13:11

I don't care if she's been sacked. Actions have consequences. Animal cruelty is not a slight misdemeanor.

LittleDidSheKnow · 21/12/2021 13:15

Yes of her actions caused her own downfall, and I never claimed otherwise.
But the public interest and reaction to this case means it is a case with a huge public gaze, with many people demanding (be it through social media, newspaper comments etc) a certain outcome. Had that outcome not come to pass then her LEA would have come under huge criticism and condemnation. So in short it was easier for them to go along with it. Had fewer people known, their actions may have been less severe.

LittleDidSheKnow · 21/12/2021 13:17

I never suggested anything was inaccurately reported

LittleDidSheKnow · 21/12/2021 13:17

*of course

@DismantledKing

Far too much deletion going on in this thread. Very heavy handed moderation.
Agreed. My post wasn't a personal attack. I pointed out that the poster in question is a member of the hunt as she has mentioned herself MANY times, and that she has appeared on EVERY thread about this woman defending her.
Feenie · 21/12/2021 13:27

The grounds will have been not upholding the teachers’ standards - really simple.

ChequerBoard · 21/12/2021 13:27

Let's be clear here.

This woman did not just hit the pony once out of frustration which would have been bad behaviour in itself.

What she did was repeatedly punch the pony in the face whilst holding firmly into its reigns. The animal could not move its head out the way and was visibility shocked and distressed at its treatment. At the same time she repeatedly kicked out at the animal's legs with as much force as she possibly could.

That's vicious, violent nasty behaviour whatever your stance on hunting. I can't believe anyone would want their children taught by someone that thinks that kind of behaviour is OK.

Lockheart · 21/12/2021 13:39

What she did was repeatedly punch the pony in the face

I'm fairly sure she slapped the horse, not punched it - if we're being clear.

I can't say I'm sorry or surprised that she has lost her job.

She doesn't deserve the death threats. Not does she deserve being kicked in the face by a horse, or any of the other things posters are delighting in coming up with.

Doggydoodah123 · 21/12/2021 13:40

Good, the cruel bitch had it coming.

She kicked it and slapped and punched it.
dottiedodah · 21/12/2021 13:41

I think she is an Animal abuser .A friend has several horses and other animals .Would never hit or kick them like this .Any young children in her care ,who may have seen or heard about this would have been very upset .She is a disgrace to her profession and to Horse lovers everywhere .If she doesnt like horses why have on FFS!

Actually she did punch it, twice. On the head. It’s very clear in the video.
PlanktonsComputerWife · 21/12/2021 13:44

Clearly someone who abuses a creature that can't speak up for itself cannot be around children.

Lockheart · 21/12/2021 13:44

It's obvious from the video she only kicked the horse once, so I'm not sure where you're getting "repeatedly" from.

Let's stick to the facts and not make up emotive exaggerations.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 21/12/2021 13:45

Had fewer people known, their actions may have been less severe.

Possibly.

But if they had seen the video (without any tabloid input) I think their actions would have been the same. They would have been as horrified as we are.

All I think is thank god someone had the presence of mind to film what she did and circulate it.

If she thought it was ok to do that in public, then god only knows what other suffering she could have caused going forward.

Now she has time to think about what she did.

BlackCatz · 21/12/2021 13:48

Good.

I'd say more, but no point really considering the amount of deletion on here lol.

So you think that repeatedly "slapping" (she did punch him more than once too) and only the kicking horse once (in the short recording) makes it all OK.

I have no words for you.

Lockheart · 21/12/2021 13:58

So you think that repeatedly "slapping" (she did punch him more than once too) and only the kicking horse once (in the short recording) makes it all OK.

Yes, that's exactly what I said.

What she did was bad enough, there's no need to make shit up for a witch hunt.

Rosieparkerss · 21/12/2021 14:01

@Megan2018

I’m very sad for her. She would’ve been DD’s teacher soon. The community here is very sad about it all. Her behaviour was unacceptable but the witch hunt unnecessary. It’s our children that are suffering- not the trolls online that have rejoiced in it all.
You don’t speak for the whole community actually and people who don’t support animal abuse are not ‘trolls’.
