Ovulation test

Hiya is it normal to have two lines on an ovulation test 5 days before period due. I ovulated about the 10th but I have 2 pink lines.

LH is generally present throughout the cycle at low levels, so ovulation strips will usually show two lines. The test line will vary in intensity though. So if the test line is lighter than the control, that's totally normal.

If the test line is the same or darker than the control it could be a couple of things.

First, some women have higher levels of LH which can show stronger lines outside of ovulation.

Second, you can have an LH surge but not ovulate (e.g. if there is no mature egg). In this case, you'll have another surge which will hopefully trigger ovulation later in your cycle and your period would come later as a result.

Third, LH tests can actually pick up HCG because the molecules are similar (note that it doesn't work in reverse- HCG tests can't pick up LH).
