Can bread make you itchy?

Weird question I know!

I love bread, but hardly ever eat it because it piles weight on me, so I avoid it most of the time. I've had it twice in the last two weeks and both times after about 12 hours I have itching across my stomach and it drives me mad. Thinking back, it's not the first time this has happened but it's the first time I've noticed ifkwim. It can't be gluten because I eat plenty of other things containing gluten without the same issue.

Anyone else familiar with this? Is it a thing?

Could you be allergic to soy? Most breads contain soya flour.

Or yeast intolerance.

I never notice it with any other foods containing soy or yeast though. It does seem to just be white bread rather than brown or seeded or anything.

Same here, bread, for me is like a mouthful of poison, all kinds of reactions from it. Don't eat it. Rice cakes all the wayXmas Wink

Although you might try a Spelt loaf? Not noticeably different from usual bread but I am not nearly so reactive to it.
