Worth buying footed onesies for 3-6 months (due Feb)?

I bought some 3-6 month footed onesies/sleepsuits for a baby who is due to be born at the beginning of February, not wanting to buy the first size and assuming that these are always useful, but am now second guessing myself. Opinions/advice gratefully received!

Yes definitely useful at that age

Do you mean because it will be getting warmer?

pinksquash13 · 20/12/2021 00:52

Yes my Feb baby wore loads of 3-6 sleepsuits

My ds wore every size of onesie from newborn up to 36 months. He was 8lb.

Just put them in the bottom of the drawer, they are bound to get used. Smile

Do you mean babygros? babies wear them at least until 6months.

PlanktonsComputerWife · 20/12/2021 00:54

Yes. May can be very chilly...

I hate seeing babies with bare feet unless it's properly warm. Some people underestimate how cold they can get lying in a windy buggy.

Sonex - Yes, exactly... baby grows.

honeylemonteaforme - Yes, because it will be getting warmer.

The baby definitely won't be wearing them during the daytime, knowing the parents' tastes. I've had a baby myself, but it was so long ago that I just can't remember! I think he wore poppered long sleeve or short sleeve vests with soft trousers, dungarees, etc.

Thank you all for your sound advice - it sounds like they should hopefully still be useful!

Yes I think still useful even if they will dress the baby in the daytime to go out there will be times eg after a bath or loafing around at home when they will come in very handy. Remember babies often need spare changes of clothes for leaks etc

Mine stay in babygrows until 3 months then other outfits in the day then baby grows at night.

Flittingaboutagain · 22/12/2021 20:28

My baby had cold feet in August (not in heat wave)
and it took someone pointing out to me to realise so I agree people do underestimate this and assume if it's warm feet are warm. Use them all the time still at almost 6 months.

DD was a June baby and we definitely used sleepsuits during the day in Autumn so I expect they'd be as useful in Spring. She wore them lots until she started properly crawling, then they got relegated to bedtime wear, I think we switched to 'proper' pyjamas around when she turned one as it seemed a good time (warm weather).

ZaraBananaAnd · 22/12/2021 20:33

My august baby wore them there literally wasn’t a day she didn’t! It was either a bit cold and she needed it or it was so sunny she needed the thin cotton to protect her skin from the sun if in pram or car set

GAW19 · 22/12/2021 20:42

I've had a June baby & a March baby, they both wore footed sleepsuits until they were around 1. Either to keep the sun off them or it's the easiest thing to layer up/down
