How do you contact a MN moderator?

Somebody is understandably very distressed on a thread I post on regularly. A mod is required to help that person. Any ideas please?

Click on the three dots on the post and report.

Post and report…click on dots beside post

This time of night you won't get a mod. Post on Nightwatch for deleting.

EduCated · 19/12/2021 22:53

You can also post on the Night Watch www.mumsnet.com/Talk/the_night_watch

MN Admins don’t work overnight, but there are some posters who have additional powers to hide threads - not sure if they can help, but worth a try.

Squiff70 · 19/12/2021 22:53

Thank you. They have done absolutely nothing wrong though and I don't want to 'report' their post as such (in terms of it getting deleted). They just need some help and support. Does reporting the post get them some guidance?

What kind of guidance do you mean? There's not a lot they can do

ArblemarzipanTFruitcake · 19/12/2021 22:55

When you report a post there's a box to say why you are reporting it - it's not automatically a report with a view to deletion.

Nightwatch can hide posts but they can't delete them.

PurpleDaisies · 19/12/2021 22:56

People don’t have to have done anything wrong for you to report their post. You can ask for help too.

Squiff70 · 19/12/2021 22:56

@stmw123 they need guidance on how to unsubscribe from the thread as having continuous updates is causing them distress (with very good reason).

Can't you provide support of suggest who can? That's all mn mods can do.....

ArblemarzipanTFruitcake · 19/12/2021 22:59

They can hide the thread:

"How do I hide a thread?

Go to the thread you'd like to hide. Click on the 'hide this thread' option, which will be either at the top or bottom of the thread depending on how you've set your threads to load. A green bar will then be visible at the top of the thread confirming that the thread is now hidden."

YesItsMeIDontCare · 19/12/2021 22:59

@Squiff70 I've found the thread and given some advice on it.

TokyoSushi · 19/12/2021 23:00

Can the person hide the thread? Would that help?

Squiff70 · 19/12/2021 23:01

@ArblemarzipanTFruitcake thank you for the instructions. Somebody just beat you to it on the thread I'm referring to and has stepped in to help this lady.

All sorted now - thanks for all the replies!
