Noticed in the past few days that I have horizontal dents in my finger nails. I don’t feel unwell but feel tired all the time. I’m going to call to try get a doctor to call me tomorrow but anyone any idea what could be the problem? Thanks

That can show up after a virus or illness. Nails take about 6 months to grow from root to tip, can you think back 3/4 months, were you ill?

I get these if I've been ill or stressed for longer than normal.

take ages to grow out but they do eventually

Have you had a massive shock recently?

A bereavement or similar?

This is common with thyroid disorders. Please make sure they do a full thyroid blood test - not just TSH but other thyroid levels too.

Various causes including nutritional deficiencies or just trauma to the nail bed. Some simple bloods should help rule out anything worrying x

Thank you all. I’ll ask for a full blood check

I get these and have something called Raynauds. It's basically a condition that makes my hands and feet etc go blue in cold weather as the blood vessels close. Does this happen to you at all?
