What do you mean?

AllTheCakes · 19/12/2021 22:10

Well, what exactly do you want to know?

Imdreamingofapeacefulxmas · 19/12/2021 22:55

I'm not familiar with that part of London.
I was wondering, is it safe /easy to get too walking from Liverpool Street Station?
Is it busy, is the venue itself OK.

So easy from Liverpool Street which you can tell very easily from google maps. It’s safe!! Presumably it’ll be daylight anyway.

Jack the Ripper was a long time ago.

FabricedeSauveterre · 19/12/2021 22:59

Do you mean Covid safe?

Sportsnight · 19/12/2021 23:05

We went a few weeks ago, its perfectly safe, very busy area usually though I’m guessing may be quieter tomorrow. The exhibition was ok. Try the VR - that was great.

DaisyNGO · 19/12/2021 23:06

The area is fine

Thank you for alerting us, there seems to be two websites and I thought it wasn't on in London now.

I am very confused by the pricing though. 2 adults + 2 children is cheaper than one adult? DC too little but I would go. Maybe I've misunderstood the pricing.

Imdreamingofapeacefulxmas · 19/12/2021 23:06

Any kind of safe really I have two small dc in tow and generally I prefer to kmow where I am in London.
Covid and bloody O has made me feel more stressed about going.
So putting feelers out that's all.. What it's like.

Cross post

They will be limiting numbers I'm sure.

The area will be full of families.

DaisyNGO · 19/12/2021 23:09

Ignore my pricing comment!

It's near Spitalfiels Market, which is a fab place to visit with lots of stalls and places to eat

FabricedeSauveterre · 19/12/2021 23:11

Have a look on street view?

Imdreamingofapeacefulxmas · 20/12/2021 06:28

The last time I went to Spitalfields was a Sunday before children born about 15 years ago??

It's incredibly safe.

LS is always bustling and you come put on to a well lit wide pavement by a road with tons of bus stops that have people waiting for them, so that's busy too.

Spitalfields is spitting distance from there, and is frankly quite fancy. The only mugging likely to happen is the amount one of food vendors wants to take off you for a bao bun.

Calm down. London is just a place (and you're going to a pretty nice and easy to navigate part of it). Millions of us live here without being in constant fear of our lives. You'll be fine - enjoy the exhibition.

Theyweretheworstoftimes · 20/12/2021 06:40

Spitalfields Market is now surrounded by law firms and big banks. Won't be as busy as previous Xmas as most of the firms are WFH.

The general area around the market has changed in 15 years. Shoreditch has changed hugely.

The market is lots of high end shops these days but it's lovely at Xmas for a wander.

It's about 5
Mins from Liverpool Street station

SuperJune · 20/12/2021 06:46

I used to live in the area, it's very safe esp in daylight Smile as always in London just keep your valuables close to you in a zipped bag or similar and you'll be fine. Very much agree with PP on spitalfields market - it's lovely with many food and item stalls. I now live in a different part of London but frequently cycle back to Liverpool Street as I like it so much!

Have a great time.

In that situation, what I'd be most worried about would be the disruption two small DC would cause when expected to sit quietly and watch animated paintings for 45 minutes.

I lived just off commercial street in 2000. There were many prostitutes in the evening and some veg wholesalers and lots of dilapidated buildings. I never felt unsafe living there oddly. Spitalfields was ace before half of it got knocked down. You could do rollerblading lessons inside and there was an american diner and a proper market at the weekend.

It's now gentrified to within an inch of its life. Over priced vintage furniture, the aforementioned overpriced Bao Buns, and hipsters. There would normally be a lot of bankers but they are all wfh.

I think you will have a great time OP. It's a lovely place for a day out. I've taken my children around there many times as they were growing up.
