M&S - can't get a "collect from store" date for the whole of next week

Anyone else?

I've just spent an hour browsing and shopping and then I find this fairly fundamental piece of information out at the VERY FINAL STAGE! Rage!

Why don't they do what Waitrose do and you reserve your delivery/collection slot before you waste so much precious time on their fucking clunky and user-unfriendly website??

I really like their food, cakes and treats but whoever is in charge of their website Needs putting into stocks.
Its an utterly embarrassing disgrace!!

Why you can't even browse what the hell is in store???
The way they show their products or don't show them is appalling its too much for them to say.. In store only and show us what's in store.
I find them infuriating.
Last year I saw a duck combination I liked.. I went into store and did anyone at all know it under stand it not manger could tell me where it was when it's in.. Utter shambolic nonsense

Returnoftheowl · 19/12/2021 13:30

I tried getting a collect in store slot from them a couple of weeks ago and they had already gone there. It's a shame as there were some bits that were collection only, they aren't in store. I've gone elsewhere.

PickAChew · 19/12/2021 13:34

All the slots at ours, were gone in November. It's the same every year.

Well you left it very very late! Xmas slots get booked up weeks in advance, I'm surprised you thought you had any chance at this late stage to be honest.

Crunchymum · 19/12/2021 14:13

What slots are these?

Click and collect?

TimTeleporter · 19/12/2021 14:15

I booked a couple of months ago. It's always the same. Need to plan ahead for it if you particularly want it.

ProudThrilledHappy · 19/12/2021 14:17

Yes I booked my christmas collection slot back in October, they all get booked up very far ahead

ParkheadParadise · 19/12/2021 14:18

Booked my Christmas slot at the beginning of November.

MyDcAreMarvel · 19/12/2021 14:20

Anyone else? well anyone would, you need to have booked about 7/8 weeks ago at least.

ladygracie · 19/12/2021 14:21

Is it a food order? I ordered stuff for my mum and couldn’t get a collection date at the simply food store but could get one for the main store. Although if you’ve ordered food, I realise this isn’t helpful at all. Sorry.

FlipFlops4Me · 19/12/2021 14:22

I have a delivery coming from Ocado on the 21st; my only worry is what will be substituted! I booked it at the beginning of November and they were nearly all gone then.

We're housebound and my next delivery isn't until the 9th January. I am hoping I've ordered enough/got enough stashed in the freezers.

A580Hojas · 19/12/2021 16:47

It's not a food order. Clothes - that you can go an collect in store. Usually happens within 24 hours, 48 at a push in normal times.

I booked today & had the choice of 22, 23 or 24 December OP. Are you in South London?

A580Hojas · 19/12/2021 19:48

Yes Luscious! My earliest date was 30th December :(

I booked my small food order within a couple of weeks of them coming out. You can't expect to get one now.

OP has quite clearly stated it is not a food order

Try Colliers Wood then :)

It’s weird with the clothes isn’t it. This happened to me at the end of November with M&S. wanted new gloves for the dc, chose them, went to pay and there was a 10 day wait, for items supposed to be in stock. I don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes.

youngestisapsycho · 19/12/2021 21:05

All the xmas food order collections are this week so maybe they are prioritising those?

MadisonAvenue · 19/12/2021 21:10

I usually order clothes for collection at my local Simply Food store but I’ve placed two orders over the last couple of days and couldn’t get a delivery to them until the 27th onwards, I suppose they’re prioritising food orders.

I could get them delivered to my nearest main store which is 10 miles away though. One order I placed on Thursday evening gave me an earliest collection date of tomorrow (Monday) but I had an email yesterday to say it was ready. I placed another order yesterday evening at 7pm, the earliest collection date was again tomorrow but I had an email this morning saying it had arrived in store.

Cactu · 19/12/2021 21:15

Had this issue trying to get some flowers delivered for a birthday gift. You only find out at the very last stage, after entering the address, payment details and so on, that they are out of stock. Went through the process again with a different selection. Same outcome. Gave up and ordered elsewhere.
