Boxing glove help

DS would like boxing gloves for Christmas. Venum gloves have been recommended but when I look there are different oz sizes so 10, 12, 14 and 16oz. Can anyone give me help in what to buy? DS is new to boxing.

It seems to me that Dana White is doing everything to broadcast UFC fights somehow because he understands how much money he can earn, and yet his genius and probably persistence allow him to do it.
