Question about Google Pay

I usually use my contactless debit card in stores and it sometimes asks me to insert the card and enter the pin.

I've registered my debit card on Google Pay, but can you just use this using contactless and it means I can leave my card at home or will I still be randomly asked for my card and pin?

I've used Apple Pay on my phone which was very handy the first time I had to use it in Waitrose when I'd popped in to buy a couple of things and realised my card was at home
at the checkout.

You are right, no PIN on Google Pay - so no limit for amount or number of contactless payments.

I use Samsung pay and I've never been asked for my card and pin but I assume that's because the app is password protected so your sort of using your pin every time.

There's no limit on the amount.
