How spiritual are you?

I've seen a couple of pile-ons today- one about reiki, and the other about akashic records. Such cynicism. Are there any spiritual types here? Or are most people of the materialist paradigm?
Personally I've had some incredible experiences with reiki, meditation, sound healing and crystal healing. I'm quite taken aback by the disparaging tone of the cynics. Makes me realise how far along the spiritual path I have come.

Yes. Interesting concept. Not many are open to it. Many have lost touch with the spirit within.

We aren't just cynics though. We are scientists. The science points very strongly to a placebo effect, which is fantastic and can be very powerful in itself, but is why these practices only tend to work for people who strongly believe in them. On the surface it looks as though there a reliable studies to support practices such as reiki but when you delve a little deeper they tend to contain unreliable data and and no peer review. I just don't believe in it, I don't believe in God, and that's perfectly valid.

I am. I have read countless books by the greatest spiritual teachers, Ram Dass, Dr Wayne Dyer, Eckart Tolle, Neem Karoli Baba, Dr Joe Dispenza, Michael Singer, Paulo Coelho, Deepak Chopra, Louise Hay, Abraham Hicks and lots more.

I got really into crystals, crystal healing, guardian angels and also delving into the Akashic records.

It was wonderful and really helped me to
be a kinder more compassionate person, that was until I experienced something truly traumatic and my mind couldn't focus anymore ... hoping to get back into it very soon.

Keep forgetting to read the date on these threads. This is nearly a year old. Dammit.

I do too but don't mention it freely as I have no interest in anyone thinking I'm a bit woo.

Everything you mention is concerned with energy and vibration. I'm guessing the scientist don't actually know enough about it all to be able to comment constructively.
