Anyone else just going through the Xmas motions?

I have just recovered from Covid. I'm tired, fed up and want to make a den with my duvet and hibernate until May.

I don't know why. I love Christmas. I love giving gifts, wearing crappy Xmas jumpers and watching cheesy Xmas films. I just really cannot be bothered.
I don't feel festive at all. The will we or won't we lock down isn't helping either.

Is anyone else feeling the same and want to join in my misery?

@ParkheadParadise

Me I hate Christmas since my Dd1 died Christmas is a very emotional time for me dd1 loved Christmas. Although if you met me you wouldn't know. Today I had Breakfast with Dd2(6) and Santa🎅🎅a have been singing Christmas songs for weeks with her counting down the days till Santa arrives. I've learned to put a face on for her.

Christmas is a very sad and emotional time for lots of people. I'll be glad when it's over.

Sending you a hug. That is so sad.Flowers

@ParkheadParadise and @Weatherwax13 my heart goes out to you both. Wishing you all the strength and comfort to see you through. Thanks
I know what you mean OP. I was pretty excited until a week or so ago, but not so much now. Just feel bleak and anxious. Just keep reminding myself it will pass and I'm so lucky in so many ways.

Me. I don't care for Xmas at all. But I have ds, and am making it special for him. I doubt I'd even get dressed on the day if it weren't for him.

Thankyou @Legoninjago1 sorry you're feeling so bleak. I hope your mood starts to lift

Yep, me. Which makes me sad as I love this time of year usually. But there's too much uncertainty and Ive no idea if my adult children will even make it home this year ( one didn't last year). DH had Covid last Xmas and his parent was in hospital battling it (died in January) so it was awful! Desperately wanted a normal happy family Xmas this year like millions of others but it's looking as though it may be snatched away at the eleventh hour, like last year.

Yep - tree is up but without any decs I can't be bothered. ☹️ I will do tomorrow. Have ended marriage with DH and told him it's over. Huge row tonight. Kids bored and miserable and I feel the same.
