Hello,

I have seen some posts from 2008 and down regarding the area Eaton Avenue in high Wycombe. We found a place we would like to move into there however I have read a lot of information regarding the place not being safe. We have a 6 month old and going on walks often.
Does anyone know if it’s still considered unsafe and why?

High Wycombe is a densely populated town. Wherever you get that density of people there will always be issues. The town itself has seen frequent stabbings, muggings, burglaries etc.. I am afraid that comes with the territory of densely populated areas. I don't know Eaton Avenue per se but know roughly where it is and personally I wouldn't choose to live there unless it was all you could stretch to budget wise. Is there a specific reason why you have to live in High Wycombe? There are much nicer places to live a few miles around the town that might suit your budget and be more pleasant to raise a family

Thank you for your response, to be honest the price was just too good to be true and we wanted to get ourselves a bargain. We have couple of friends but they are more around the loud water area which they love.

I wouldn't live anywhere in that stretch between Chapel Lane and Desborough Ave. It's quite a deprived part of town with high levels of unemployment, and that comes with the issues Justnotsureaboutit mentions above.

Just seen your second post. Loudwater is much nicer. Even Micklefield is fine. Totteridge is ok too in terms of day to day living but seems to be a breeding ground for Islamic radicalism.

I also wouldn’t live in the area between Chaoel Lane/New Road and Desborough Avenue. It’s really not a nice area at all.
