…that non-European people would be able to access.

I’ve got family coming on Christmas Day and would love to do a quiz, except some of them are not from Europe, non English speaking (though language not a barrier as we can translate) so lots of British-centric quizzes can’t be used.

Examples of things that don’t work:
Anagrams
Song lyrics
British politics, history, culture

They’re from Latin America so US culture would be ok probably (they’d know more than the brits i think) and global general knowledge would be good… it’s quite tough! Let’s see what mumsnet can offer!!

Thanks!

Happy Christmas in lots of different languages - loads of websites have the words.

DragonMovie · 18/12/2021 20:50

That’s a great idea!!! Identify the language - love it

Um, I did national dishes of countries with pictures?

Needdoughnuts · 18/12/2021 20:52

Picture round - Identifying a small part of a national flag

SwimmingCait · 18/12/2021 20:53

Flag questions?

For a one off question, Nepal is a good one as the only one that isn't square/rectangular.
Good for a picture round if you can print out sheets with multiple flags for everyone

Other Christmas quiz questions but I'm not sure if they would all translate/ work with different cultures
Names of the reindeer
Names of the 3 wise men
What colour Father Christmas originally wore

Needdoughnuts · 18/12/2021 20:56

Is named country above or below the equator

mnahmnah · 18/12/2021 21:04

You could have one about wombats having cube shaped poo Grin

pastabest · 18/12/2021 21:20

car emblems

number of bones in the human body

blindfolded dried herb identification (just use stuff out of the cupboard)

doodlejump1980 · 18/12/2021 21:21

We did a fun round in our lockdown quizzes called “ikea or cheese”. Google them there are loads of examples!

AdaColeman · 18/12/2021 21:34

Distances between different capital cities.

Dates of world events, you could make this a multi choice round.

ZombieCocktail · 18/12/2021 21:44

Possibly:

Throughout the world, which male / female have the most Instagram followers?
When I did my quiz the answers were Cristiano Ronaldo and Ariana Grande (but that was a while ago).

Name the capital of (random) country?

Which country has the largest population (random) country A or (random) country B?

Who won the gold medal for (random) sport at the last Olympics?

Which country amassed the most medals at the last Olympics?

JetBlackSteed · 18/12/2021 22:02

My work one had clips of movies taken off trailers on you tube

CatOutOfHell · 18/12/2021 23:54

If you’ve got access to photos of the people involved in the quiz, zoom in very closely on parts of their face and then match each close up photo to the correct person. It’s surprisingly tricky!

CatOutOfHell · 19/12/2021 00:00

Also, a sink or float game could work? (Lots of examples on YouTube.)

Rainbowqueeen · 19/12/2021 00:07

What year did x event happen? Eg first moon landing, World War One ended, other internationally known events. You can do a whole round of this

Facts about animals eg what colour is a polar bears skin? Answer is black.

Biscuitandacuppa · 19/12/2021 00:10

Name the logo (international brands)

DragonMovie · 19/12/2021 07:40

These are all awesome ideas

Wombat poo 😂 that’ll definitely test my spanish knowledge translating that one!!

I can definitely do the reindeer/three king names as i can have the spanish/English answers as options.

Logos, car brands, pics of the guests close up all also excellent ideas.

All the geography ones also definitely possible and I like the animal facts ideas.

Thanks everyone!!
