Christmas card for precious owners

This is our third Christmas in our house and we got home today to find a hand delivered Christmas card. I didn’t read the envelope before opening it, it was with some other post that had come through. It’s addressed to the people who used to live here, and says “from Jane & John, number 14”
It’s a long road, 14 isn’t that near our house so these aren’t neighbours I’m sure I’ve ever even seen.

Should I ignore - or send one back saying “from Tired, DH, DD, number 98” just so they know that the previous residents don’t live here anymore?
They’d know I opened their card if I did that, but maybe that doesn’t matter? Is it a bit weird to send a card if I’ve never met them? Or is it just a courteous way of letting them know they’re sending cards to be people who have moved? Am I overthinking? I think they sent one last year but with lockdown etc I just forgot about it.

If I were you, I wouldn't give them a Christmas card, as their card wasn't intended for you, I'd just put a note through their door explaining that you're in the house now. You can say happy Christmas to sign off!
