Have you ever won the jackpot in the lottery or scratch card?

I have to admit that I am guilty of spending roughly £15 a month on lottery. I play "rich for life" in a hope of winning it. It just sounds nice and not stressful ... £10k a month. It won't affect my friendship and family circle, I won't need to hire security, my life will just go on, but nicer IYKWIM.
Here's hoping.
My other half laughs at me and he doesn't believe that anyone ever wins any jackpots.
Thinking of it, I personally do not know anyone who had won BIG money(obviously that they disclosed, however if I would have won £140 millions it would be a struggle not to change my lifestyle). I have heard of a friend of a friend who knows someone who won, but I don't think that anyone in my circle has ever won.
If you have won a jackpot, have you changed your lifestyle or are you keeping it a secret, and how has it affected your friendships and family relations ?
Forgive my curiosity, but with the depressing news I am looking for something light to occupy my mind !

I haven't but my friend won millions recently, under 5 million not 100s.
She still stays in the same house, has a new car but not brand new. She seems to have her head screwed on and isn't letting it go to her head. She's had a rough time over the last few years so I genuinely couldn't be happier for her!

That sounds like a perfect amount of money to win to me. Just enough yo be comfortable and know that everything and everyone are going to be looked after.
And go part time at work, have more time for hobbies and charity.

There’s an AMA where someone has!

There were two girls at school whose parents won millions in the lottery. One was on a syndicate and it was before the ridiculously huge jackpots so I think they got just over a million each. The other won £30 million.

Just reading through that thread , skipping the posters , reading the OPS's posts. I really like this lady's attitude, shame about some of her family, but I guess that's life .
