Looking for a soothing audio book, something nice over Christmas hols and wintery dog walks.

Nice voice please! Dont mind if it's fiction or non fiction although I prefer non- fiction. Just really need to chill out! Grin

I am listening to Underland by Robert Macfarlane on audio. Its non fiction. I liked it so much I bought the book too.

The blurb: 'an epic exploration of the earth's underway as they exist in myth, literature, memory and the land itself.

Beautifully written and narrated.

The 3 LOTRs books read by Rob Inglis. They're really good value, as each one is about 15 hours or so long Grin.

Depending on your tastes and mood
Agatha Christie / Peter wimsey bbc dramatisations. Listening to lpw right now !
For a great laugh the Mapp and Lucia audiobooks.
Or the le carré smiley collection
Or a great classic above all classic thrillers Rogue Male.
Those are my go to chill out ‘old familiars’.

Thank you, I'm going to go through all these today and listen to a sample. I suspect Hugh Grant might win!

Andrew cotter’s books are lovely, about his time with olive and Mabel. He could read the phonebook to me... 😍

You won't regret it. He even does different voices for the characters! Loved it!
