That Glamour article is a great piece to use to start conversations about this. I often direct friends who say they dislike JK to it.
I’ve submitted my vote for JK. Joanne’s compassion, intelligence and integrity are inspiring. Her books brought magic into so many childhoods and her charity work / politics improve so many people’s lives.
Her actions and bravery have reminded me that I’m a feminist not because it’s fashionable or because it will make people like me… but because women’s rights are f*ing important and women around the world are treated appallingly.
It’s good to be reminded that feminism is a political ideology and, at times, an all out war… not a tea party with pink cupcakes and pretty happy things that won’t upset the men.
