WhenISnappedAndFarted · 16/12/2021 22:20

@Wotagain I so hoped you'd found a liar however the thread you're talking back has the date of: Wed 16-Dec-20

scalliondays · 16/12/2021 22:20

She's got my nomination

Icenii · 16/12/2021 22:20

Don't they have to respond to a FOI?

OhLittleBoreOfWhabylon · 16/12/2021 22:22

@Wotagain
Blessedandstresseddd so you’re chest feeding are you? Only earlier today you were 6 months pregnant with your first child.

Oh, well spotted! MNHQ will be most interested, I'm sure Xmas Grin

At least something on this thread can be proved.

OhLittleBoreOfWhabylon · 16/12/2021 22:23

Oh, just seen @WhenISnappedAndFarted's post

HeartGoesLast · 16/12/2021 22:23

Done. I think she’s phenomenal.

Repetitivestraininjury · 16/12/2021 22:23

Done, nomiated and accepted, agree with everything said from the sensible aspect.

senua · 16/12/2021 22:26

Done.

mum2jakie · 16/12/2021 22:27

Nominated for being such a fantastic role model and speaking out for women's rights in the face of considerable abuse

Wotagain · 16/12/2021 22:29

Oops Blush

Sparkles715 · 16/12/2021 22:29

Nominated!

Panacotta · 16/12/2021 22:31

Great idea!

Martinisarebetterdirty · 16/12/2021 22:35

Thanks OP, also nominated. JK Rowling has already gone down in history as one of the greats, she’s amazing and I am so proud of her.

GroggyLegs · 16/12/2021 22:40

Dooooone!

Gumbomambo · 16/12/2021 22:43

Done.

DappledThings · 16/12/2021 22:54

@Heruka

Once it’s closed we could do an FOI to ask how many votes the finalists got?
I was thinking that! I'm going over to nominate her now.

Something changed at work today which means I might have to put my head above the parapet as regards the trans debate soon. Shitting myself really but hope to do it with as much calm, sense and dignity ad JKR has done.

Hen2018 · 16/12/2021 22:54

Why?

pinkmink · 16/12/2021 22:54

That Glamour article is a great piece to use to start conversations about this. I often direct friends who say they dislike JK to it.

I’ve submitted my vote for JK. Joanne’s compassion, intelligence and integrity are inspiring. Her books brought magic into so many childhoods and her charity work / politics improve so many people’s lives.

Her actions and bravery have reminded me that I’m a feminist not because it’s fashionable or because it will make people like me… but because women’s rights are f*ing important and women around the world are treated appallingly.

It’s good to be reminded that feminism is a political ideology and, at times, an all out war… not a tea party with pink cupcakes and pretty happy things that won’t upset the men.

Starryskiesinthesky · 16/12/2021 22:57

Done.

Heruka · 16/12/2021 22:58

What was it, DappledThings? I feel that day is coming for me too but still biding my time. It’s ridiculous how scary it is.

Heruka · 16/12/2021 22:58

Which makes you all the more awed when you think of JKRs guts.

Cornishqween · 16/12/2021 22:59

Thank you for making this known - I adore her and everything she stands for. Jumped at the chance to be able to acknowledge her efforts...not that it'll ever be made public.
What a woman

ShowerOfShite · 16/12/2021 23:00

Happily voted for her earlier. The woman is an absolute legend.
