There's the obvious of batteries. I always go to poundland etc and get 2 big packs of each size. Rarely needed them as most stuff has batteries but one year I forgot and our corner shop charged dh 11.99 for 4 AA batteries nor even duracel!

Bin bags I always make sure I have
Plenty of washing up liquid

Random I know.

The thing we've not got this year is turkey foil.
I normally pick it up when I see it, but DH has been doing the shopping and I didn't mention it to him. It now appears to be out of stock...

Bellsandsnow · 16/12/2021 16:12

Oooo good idea! I have:

  • nice cereal for Xmas morning
  • gravy
  • bucks fizz
witsendeverytime · 16/12/2021 16:23

I think I'm covered but I am anxious that the Tesco delivery I have booked for Dec 23 might have items missing and it will be a scramble to find them. The main foods I'm collecting as a food to order from Sainsburys so I know I'll have the turkey and most veg, but the ingredients for other meals and cranberry sauce and bread sauce etc are in the Tesco shop.

Great thread

I tend to stock up on solpadeine. Calpol etc

Curry sauce (as I make curry with the huge left over turkey and do make from scratch)

Our local shop opens on the 26th but I do keep a decent stash of food.

CrimbleCrumble1 · 16/12/2021 16:48

Tin foil
Loo rolls

Unsuremover · 16/12/2021 16:49

We’re going to mums on Christmas Eve to stay over so I’m making a list of all the presents that need to go. They are stashed all over and it’s going to be a while before I see everyone again so if I forgot I’ll feel horrible. So I’ll be doing a crazy count in the car in the dark on Christmas Eve but it should work.

FragrantVagrant · 16/12/2021 16:51

I just added stamps to my list. Used my last on Christmas cards and am a traditionalist you still likes to send thank you letters.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 16/12/2021 18:19

Tinfoil, baking paper, loo roll, milk, orange juice, maple syrup, honey, nice ice cream, extra wrapping paper, extra boxes of chocs/selection boxes for last minute visitors. Spare generic gift tags. Spare batteries for all the battery operated lights around the house.

EveningPrimeMinister · 16/12/2021 18:42

I'm pretty much done. Just need fresh fruit and veg, Croissants, Cheese and crackers, Painkillers, Plasters, calendar for dd's stocking and Viennetta - tradition in our house!

Fatgalslim · 16/12/2021 19:03

Rennie or Gaviscon

MintMe · 16/12/2021 19:09

Mentos and a bottle of coke. DS is desperate to do the experiment!!

MarmitesMyMate · 17/12/2021 21:32

Yes to calpol I just got another bottle as ours is half full. In nearly 16 years I've never had a poorly kid over Xmas thankfully but guaranteed if I ran out of calpol that's when my luck would run out.
